Located in the heart of the Mosaic District, this charming corner restaurant is off the beaten path, but is worth the search through the maze of buildings. Classifying itself as a pizzeria and a wine bar, Ovvio Osteria’s description overlooks several other Italian treats, including its house-baked breads in a basket and such entrées as chicken gnocchi, pappardelle Bolognese and a mushroom risotto. Meatier main fare ranges from hanger steaks to grilled wild salmon and veal Parmesan. But regardless of the time of day, patrons can select from among salads, calzones and panini --- the Italian sausage panino is a winner.
