 P.F. Chang's China Bistro Restaurant Review: We know that P.F. Chang's isn't exclusive to this city, yet it's a refreshing alternative to staid Chinese fare. Located in a tony shopping mall between Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, the eatery’s atmosphere imparts a mysterious, Far East aura thanks to T'ang Dynasty-type sculptures and a mural that re-creates a twelfth-century narrative scene. Amid the depictions of gods and warriors, skilled servers invite guests to relax over exotic teas and fine wines. We recommend the lettuce wraps, a trendy blend of spicy diced chicken and crisp greens. The wonton soup is hearty with mushrooms, chicken, shrimp and pork bundles in a rich broth. Meanwhile, not-to-be-missed entrées include lemon chicken, Szechwan beef, Chang's spicy chicken and dan dan noodles. Special dipping sauces are concocted tableside. Be sure to check out the drinks menu, which features innovative twists on classics, like the Chinese 88---a reinterpretation of the French 75 with Plymouth gin and Mumm sparkling wine. The Sichuan Mary is a take on the Bloody Mary with Absolut Peppar, tomato juice and spices. |
