 P.F. Chang's China Bistro Restaurant Review: Without a reservation, you can plan on waiting for a table at P.F. Chang's, the Americanized Chinese restaurant near Winter Park Village. You might try for a seat at the bar, but on Friday and Saturday nights it's elbow to elbow. Young servers move quickly throughout the spacious, attractive dining room and the food arrives quickly. Start with the lettuce wraps, finely chopped chicken that's served with leaves of iceberg---you spoon the chicken on the leaf, wrap and eat. Most of the classics are on the menu, including renditions of kung pao chicken, orange peel beef and shrimp with lobster sauce. Specialties include Chengdu spiced lamb, with cumin, mint, tomatoes and onions; and VIP duck, a half duck served Cantonese-style and glazed with a sweet soy plum sauce. Daily specials always include a fish dish. Desserts---including several mini treats---are not worth the calories; just go for the fortune cookies. |
