P.J.'s Oyster Bar Restaurant Review: Although the décor is that of a standard beach seafood restaurant, one distinctive touch stands out --- the walls of dollar bills. A decades-old tradition for this family-run place is a chance for guests to have a dollar bill stapled to the wall, often with a message or date scrawled in marker pen. (Periodically the bills are harvested and donated to a local children's hospital.) The food is reliable, whether it’s seafood such as Florida lobster tail or fried-fish sandwiches, burgers or pasta. Consider the Wacky Jack Combos where guests make selections from a list that includes fried clam strips, crab cakes, oysters, shrimp, grouper, scallops, mahi, cod and amberjack (something of an acquired taste, this is a feisty local fish with an assertively fishy flavor). Even a simple Florida dish like seared shrimp comes with tasty fries and steamed broccoli. For non-seafood fans, the menu includes a chicken breast (blackened, broiled or grilled) and New York strip.
