Pacific Coast Grill Restaurant Review: Restaurateurs Steve Goldberg (Matsuhisa Aspen and Matsuhisa Vail) and his partner Phil Berkovitz (together they co-own Belly Up, Wild Note Café and Pacific Coast Grill) took their time to create their dream reincarnation of Pacific Coast Grill, turning the space into a swank seaside setting. Start with crispy calamari, made-to-order guacamole or black mussels in white wine with spicy chorizo. Carnivores will like the pineapple hoisin barbecue ribs that come in a brown bag with fries, while lighter eaters will appreciate the yellowtail tartare stack with mango habanero sauce and avocado. The famous lobster tacos are an appreciated carryover from the old PCG menu. Designer Georgia Goldberg applied details like colorful reclaimed wood from fishing boats, a funky crystal chandelier in the blue-tiled private room, and galvanized metal light fixtures. Enjoy a meal on the upper deck amid the sea breeze and watch the surfers catch waves at dusk.
