| Usually, when restaurants try to be all things to all people, there’s a lack of focus throughout, but Palazzo Giuseppe hits all the right notes no matter where you sit. There’s a sophisticated dining room, classy bar showcasing martinis and local wines, sidewalk al fresco dining, an express deli offering brick oven-fired pizza-by-the-slice, and even a private room that can be reserved for special occasions. The menu standouts range from classic Caesar and caprese salads to delicate cappellini, from a pastrami panino to a rich pappardelle alla ragù, and veal saltimbocca to tender osso buco. There are a lot of local labels on the ample wine list, plus some solid Italian picks. For dessert, go for one of the house-made gelatos made with ingredients such as Tahitian vanilla beans and seasonal fruit. All the breads, pizza dough and pastas are made in-house as well, and there are wallet-friendly happy hours, family-style dinners and weekend brunches.
