 Located in the Hotel Monaco, the multi-level Panzano has vaulted ceilings and a contemporary décor. If you sit at the counter, you'll have a close-up view of the open kitchen as it prepares modern interpretations of classic Northern Italian dishes. Starters might include grilled flatbread or fried Brussels sprouts tossed with apple cider reduction, pistachios and sliced green apple. You can't go wrong with pasta: carbonara with house-cured pancetta or pappardelle alla bolognese topped with shaved Grana Padano. Gluten-free menus are also available. The downtown after-work crowd often gathers at the bar, sipping Bellinis and munching on crispy calamari. Northern Italian wines dominate the large and well-priced wine list.
