 Located in the Hotel Monaco, the multi-level Panzano has vaulted ceilings, amber-colored walls, colorful plates, white tablecloths and the warmth of wood. There's a definite feel of cozy and homey. If you sit at the counter, you'll have a close-up view of the open kitchen as it prepares modern interpretations of classic Northern Italian dishes. Enjoy the mini fried sandwiches filled with prosciutto, provolone and Fontina, and crusted with Parmesan, cherry sauce and white truffle oil. You can't go wrong with pasta: house-made fettuccine with sautéed shrimp, pancetta, cream sauce and fried egg; ravioli filled with Italian sausage, ricotta, Parmesan and caramelized fennel; or three-cheese and tarragon agnolotti with basil pesto, rocket and roasted tomato salad. The downtown after-work crowd often gathers at the bar, sipping Bellinis and munching on wild mushroom pizzas or crispy calamari. Northern Italian wines dominate the large and well-priced wine list.
