| Owned by the Tarantino brothers who serve as the chef and maitre d’, Parioli is a simple yet sophisticated place to enjoy authentic old-world dining, Italian-style. The centerpiece of the dining room, a cozy fireplace, sets the tone of this beach-town bistro. The menu is classic Italian done well; we suggest starting with the paper-thin filet mignon carpaccio or the antipasti platter for two, then moving on to something more substantial, such as the Gorgonzola gnocchi or the béchamel chicken lasagna. Entrées of note include satisfying lamb osso buco and sautéed baby squid with pesto. After a hearty old-world meal like this, there may not be room for dessert, but if you can manage, try the orange bread pudding or Frangelico chocolate mousse. |
