Alfred's Victorian Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Five minutes from the airport and a 15-minute drive from downtown Harrisburg makes this stately Victorian mansion easily accessible to local and out-of-town guests. Elaborate, era-correct décor is a bit gloomy, marked by heavy draperies, antiques, wooden furnishings and grandiose chandeliers. Classic, old-fashioned dishes are still in demand after four decades, such as flambéed Steak Diane, Victorian house salad and bananas Foster. Stand-out menu items are crab imperial-stuffed jumbo butterflied shrimp cradled in a puff pastry boat, and a roasted portobello mushroom cap enriched by crumbled Gorgonzola.
