Osteria Via Stato Restaurant Review:

There’s a convivial, communal feel to this rustic Lettuce Entertain You venture with big tables and stone and timber details. The fixed-price menu gets you the night's selection of antipasti (lemony olives, veal meatballs in simple tomato sauce, perhaps) and two pastas, such as ricotta cavatelli with house-made sausage, roasted local tomatoes, spinach and Parmesan. Then, it’s on to an entrée like swordfish or braised short rib. But there are à la carte selections, too, including a spicy tomato cream sauce over chicken and penne. Seasonal specialties, such as Umbrian farro, emphasize farm-fresh bounty. The all-Italian wine list has great depth, but its Super Tuscans surely can scrape the sky price-wise. Looking for something more casual? Check out adjunct Pizzeria Via Stato, which is located in the front of the restaurant. It turns out red- and white-sauced, wood-fired pizzas garnished with primo ingredients.
