THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Picnics at Allen's Drugstore Restaurant Review

: This ’50s-style luncheonette, complete with long counter and booths, is located inside the old-fashioned Allen’s Drugstore, which has anchored the corner of Red and Bird Roads since 1948. Combinations of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries, along with Southern grits and biscuits with sausage gravy are hearty breakfasts. For lunch and dinner, big bowls of spicy chili, thick half-pound burgers, tuna melts, BLT’s and blue-plate specials please the neighborhood crowd. Down-home desserts include blueberry pie and an exceptional banana pudding. Prices are ’50s-like too. The most expensive item on the menu is a 10-ounce T-bone dinner for just $7.99.
