Pizza Furiosa Restaurant Review

: Flagstaff chef Richard Fernandez, who spent over a decade at Pesto Brothers, is behind Pizza Furiosa. The relaxed, airy restaurant’s décor is modern, with glazed concrete floors, a giant chalkboard wall, stainless steel counters and many eco-friendly items like archaic university classroom chairs. The menu features wood-fired pizzas and also includes salads, pastas, panini and kid favorites like wood-fired pepperoni rolls. Pizzas are large enough to split if you also order a salad; don’t miss the basil spinach pesto with sun-dried tomatoes, hand-pulled mozzarella, tomatoes and toasted walnuts, or the Yukon gold potatoes, seared tri tip steak, Gorgonzola and leeks pie. Salads range from caprese to a blue cheese wedge. Of note on the panini menu: the fried eggplant with chèvre, olive tapenade and caramelized onions on toasted Italian bread. On the beverage front, it’s BYOB with no corkage fees, at least at this time.
