| Larkspur boasts one of the Bay Area's most popular pizzerias in Pizzeria Picco, sister venue to the tonier Picco restaurant next door. The pizzeria offers a variety of Neapolitan pies from the classic margherita to gourmet versions painted with prawns, nettles and goat cheese. All are named after mountain bikes, which is not surprising when you see the crowds of bikers chowing down on pizzas for weekend lunch. Locals flock here as it's worth the drive, whether around the corner or over the Golden Gate Bridge. The kitchen also turns out notable salads and offers a good, though limited, wine list for a pizza joint. The soft-serve ice cream is made with local Straus organic base, and there’s a cult following for the vanilla cone topped with olive oil and sea salt. |
