THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pomodoro Restaurant Review: Pomodoro hit its stride with the arrival of Eric Herndon. Any one of several appetizers would make good light main dishes with a salad. The large quantity of very sweet, tender calamari rings comes with a marinara sauce and an aïoli. In addition, lightly floured and fried zucchini rounds accompany the dish. The bruschetta is house-made focaccia with tomato, balsamic and extra-virgin olive oil and comes with a tomato sauce and soft cheese for dipping. We’ve enjoyed the grilled salmon on a bed of vegetables, the lasagna, the melanzane rollatini---grilled eggplant wrapped around ricotta on red pepper coulis---and many of the pasta dishes, such as the shells with house-made pesto. Simple food simply prepared and presented at a fair price. Pizzas are available, too. The wine list focuses on Italian selections, and offers many good choices by the glass.
