Portland City Grill Restaurant Review: Portland City Grill serves a credible combination of sushi rolls, steaks, salads and sandwiches. But everyone knows the main reason to dine here is the view. Located at the top of “Big Pink” (the U.S. Bancorp Tower), the tallest building in Portland, the restaurant and bar boasts a panoramic perspective on the city. Nab one of the coveted window seats if you can. The menu showcases innovative Asian appetizers such as five-spice Peking duck, steamed buns, and pickled daikon ahi tartare. Desserts are traditional, such as an upside-down apple pie and a chocolate mousse tart. The lengthy wine list and well-polished servers befit the setting, and the bar is generally packed with members of the young drinkers' club, who take advantage of expertly made cocktails and an affordable happy hour food menu. The big, attractive space and festive atmosphere make this a good choice for large parties. Despite the high prices and fancy food, children are welcome, and the kitchen will split dishes upon request.
