![]() Prego Restaurant Review: We won't admit to frequenting Prego merely for its extensive list of wines by the glass, but we are certainly fans. We're also glad that, over the years, this has become a place where white tablecloth food is dished out to folks dressed for nearby Main Street Theater, along with tired shoppers who've been perusing the Rice Village stores. Still, anyone eager to enjoy the creative menu is welcome. None of the dishes suffers from an overload of cheese; instead lemon and wine have a stronger role, and sun-dried tomatoes, cherries, capers and pungent herbs are celebrated. We're always torn between the smoked-duck ravioli and the veal-and-dried-apple ravioli. Rich Fontina lasagna with snappy pesto and veal meatballs; crab-and-lobster cakes; and veal Marsala served with asparagus are all deservedly popular. Pastry chef Philip Green’s fresh lemon tart with Italian meringue and mostarda syrup, classic pear tart with almond cream, and seasonal ice creams and sorbets round out the meal. |
