| Live Irish entertainment is part of the fun at this pub on steroids that brings true Irish tastes to diners (and drinkers) at Disney’s Pleasure Island. The cavernous space is inviting, thanks to four antique mahogany bars and handsome furniture all imported from the Emerald Isle. Icy-cold Irish beers and fine Irish whiskies are a big draw, but the contemporary cuisine, under the direction of Irish chef Kevin Dundon, is surprisingly good. The menu features classics with Dundon’s twist, from fish ‘n’ chips and shepherd's pie to mussels in saffron-tomato-leek broth and pork loin glazed with Irish Mist whisky and served with bacon and potatoes. Lightly battered Irish sausages with spicy Dalkey mustard is a standout starter, as is the crock of homemade chicken liver pâté. The Dunbrody Kiss is a chocolate mousse with a crunchy caramel base, drizzled with chocolate ganache. |
