Inspired by the family-owned, century-old East Harlem original, this 200-seat Italian restaurant overlooks Caesars’ Garden of the Gods Italian marble pool, where bocce ball games accompany seasonal outdoor dining. You’ll find old-style Italian cuisine served in two ten-table dining rooms, each one re-creating the cozy ambience of the New York location. The Strip views and other seating areas are additions, but the signature jukebox copies the one back east. For lunch, the restaurant offers patio seating for "Pizzas in the Park," where the kitchen serves up first-rate Neapolitan-style pizzas. Begin with the antipasto della casa for two, created with traditional meats and cheeses. Among other starters, we like the hearty fagioli with escarole and the arugula and octopus and fava bean salad, dressed simply with fruity extra virgin olive oil. Be sure to sample some of the family recipes, signature dishes passed through the generations, like Aunt Anna’s meatballs, chicken with Uncle Vincent’s famous lemon sauce and the Italian ricotta cheesecake. We also like the coffee- and chocolate-rich tiramisu and the warm Granny Smith tart with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce.
