Rio City Cafe Restaurant Review: After a day of sightseeing in Old Sacramento, there is no better place to sit back, relax and take in the views of the riverfront. While the dining room is charming and elegant, the outdoor deck is the perfect place to while away the evening. The cuisine is simple Californian, with an emphasis on seasonal, local ingredients. Starters include honey chipotle wings with jícama slaw, ahi nachos on wonton chips, and crab cakes with orange chipotle aïoli. Mains include cheese ravioli with Chardonnay marinara, grilled pork loin with black bean and corn croquettes, and roasted chicken with pea-and-bacon bread pudding. Dozens of California wines are available by the glass, as are a number of specialty cocktails.
