THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ristorante Italiano Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED The earthy cooking of Tuscany and the northern Italian countryside, seasoned with a dose of Milanese class, is showcased in this upscale though informal restaurant. A mural of Venice streets and canals fills one wall. A beamed ceiling and faux-brick walls decorated with greenery and Renaissance paintings, rich upholstery and lush plants complete the romantic ambience. The savory shrimp scampi with lemon and garlic sauce is offered as an appetizer and an entrée. Breast of chicken piccata is sautéed in butter, mushrooms, white wine and lemon. We like the vermicelli tutto mare alla Riviera---angel hair with shrimp, crab meat, prosciutto, field greens and basil butter. House favorites include oven-roasted New Zealand rack of lamb laced with a tarragon demi-glaze and veal osso buco served with saffron rice. The tiramisu soaked in espresso, Kahlúa and Marsala wine is worth the splurge.
