Few chains offer both a quality meal and an atmosphere designed to keep kids happy, but Romano’s succeeds. While your kids color with crayons provided by management, you can use the colors to keep tabs on the wine you drink, making a mark each time you pour another glass of their "honor-system" bottle. When its time to order, remember the respectable calamari, the crisp well-torn salads drizzled with biting vinaigrette, and many tasty entrées. Simple fare done well includes salmon sautéed in lemon butter with capers, tomatoes and basil; and steamed mussels in a delicate saffron sauce. Pasta dishes are varied and generously-portioned and pizza comes piping hot from the wood-fired oven.
