Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review

: Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar in Davis Square serves creative comfort fare like smoked chicken wings made with its signature competition rub and a Texas-style beef brisket sandwich smothered in barbecue onions, spicy horseradish sauce and creamy slaw. The former diner has been transformed into a restaurant that also offers up hearty, stick-to-your-ribs country fried steak with a black pepper gravy, a bone-in pork chop with grits, and lobster hush puppies. The BBQ baconator meatloaf "fatty" is a helping of smoked meatloaf with a side of buttery potatoes topped with a poblano pepper and onion gravy. A platter held fried chicken thigh that was meaty, crispy and juicy, and made even better when finished with a pepper gravy. We like the Thai sticky pork ribs made with a sweet and spicy sauce and the fried Brussels sprouts tossed in a tasty combination of Tabasco barbecue and blue cheese dressing. Request to be seated in a roomy red booth and get started with a Willie's Southern iced team made with bourbon, or try a drink special that may include a concoction like mulled apple cider with cranberry bitters and gin. A slice of seasonal pumpkin pie, Dutch apple crumble or Key lime with a scoop of Christina's vanilla ice cream should end the meal.
