The Royale Restaurant Review: The Royale mastered the classic cocktail trend early on, and its Sunday night Cocktail Museum caters to those who just can’t get enough mixology history. In addition to cocktails named for the city’s wards and neighborhoods, The Royale presents a fine supporting cast of beers. The food menu is compact but still broad enough to pair with the drinks. Try the smoked beef brisket tacos --- a satisfying example of cross-cultural cuisine. Many options are vegetarian, including a respectable meat-less burger. Passions run deep at The Royale, whether the topic is politics, boxing or classic cocktails. Owner Steve Smith (the one in the hat) is perennially interesting and his enthusiasm for history is tinged with an appreciation of modern marketing. |
