This may be the single most popular eatery at the busy St. Louis Galleria. But the turnover is rapid and there's seldom a long wait for a table. The bakery items include breads, sweet rolls, muffins and bagels (what we think to be the weakest item) but no cakes or pies. The café offers soups, sandwiches and, of course, coffee, espresso and the requisite espresso specialties. Things slow down late in the evenings and supplies sometimes dwindle, especially during high shopping seasons. Long before it expanded nationally and became Panera, this chain made St. Louis happy.
