THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Saint Louis Bread Co. Restaurant Review:

This location of the St. Louis chain is in a face-off with the Big Guys From Seattle, who moved in recently. Our money is on the locals, considering the neighborhood's vigorous anti-chain sentiments and heavy patronage. The bakery items include breads, sweet rolls, muffins and bagels (what we think to be the weakest item) but no cakes or pies. The café offers soups---we do enjoy those served in bread bowls---many sandwiches, and of course, coffee, espresso and the requisite espresso specialties. We find the tuna salad with sprouts to be consistently damp, but also generous in size and taste. Don't plan to close out your evening here; surprisingly, considering the neighborhood; they close at 8 during the week, and even earlier on the weekend.
