Actually, salmon is not the sole offering at Salmontin La Maison du Saumon. Shrimp dishes and even a filet mignon are also available. But it’s the fresh Scottish salmon that takes center stage. Rabih Salibi, formerly chef/owner of Flo Paris bakery, and his wife Florelle have created a menu of French seafood to match the setting, which boasts charming white walls and a rough-hewn wood floor. Start with the creamy duck fat foie gras or maybe a bowl of French onion soup. For lunch, choose from salads and two types of tartares (yes, one is salmon) as well as sandwiches. We like the smoked salmon tartine with creamy cheese and red onion, or opt for grilled chicken or a croque monsieur. Entrées include a catch-of-the-day meunière, salmon and fettuccine, and sautéed scallops topped with foie gras. On Sundays, go for the salmon Benedict. Look for classic cocktails and an affordable wine list, too.
