Salty Snapper Seafood & Oyster Bar Restaurant Review:

Family friendly Salty Snapper combines price-sensitive dining, fresh seafood, a casual atmosphere and live music all in a single large venue. Nautical elements reinforce the seaside theme. Start with a cup of clam chowder or perhaps the daily varying baked oysters (unless you want a round of cold raw oysters). Three dishes are well priced options. Shrimp and grits offers plump shrimp in a tomato-citrus sauce with smoked bacon and bell peppers. We also liked the fried seafood combo platter, offering crisp, not greasy, properly prepared shellfish (shrimp and oysters were our choice). We also savored the traditionally done hush puppies (deep-fried cornmeal nuggets or fritters) and respect the fact that the kitchen’s preparation makes no attempt to "upscale" them. Varying daily, desserts are fairly standard. A short but respectable wine list and plenty of brews complete the meal. The Casal Garcia Vinho Verde pairs nicely with the food.
