By living up to its over-the-top self-description as a “wild tapas” destination, Sanctuaria draws a wide-ranging clientele. Accordingly, foodies come for the Latin tapas and creative mixology. Bar-hoppers bustle along Manchester Avenue. There’s a girls’ night out crowd, a date crowd and even an art-loving crowd, admiring the religious antiques amid the décor, and they all coexist peacefully thanks to attentive service. The menu is filled with dishes rooted in Latin America or Spain, a surprisingly large number of them vegetarian, though some local favorites like St. Louis ribs do make an appearance alongside Cuban pork, beef in chimichurri and quinoa-stuffed peppers. Many foods have suggested cocktail pairings, and they generally work well. The pisco flight is a novelty that also appeals---thanks, in part, to the lemon juice mixer that comes alongside.
