Sans Souci Restaurant Review

: Sans Souci, with its elegant dining room, rich Mediterranean accents and hand-painted wall murals, transports you from its home in downtown Cleveland to a French Provençal auberge. The menu, which changes often to focus on seasonal, local ingredients, is reminiscent of French country cooking. This results in dishes like angel hair pasta with sweet lobster tail and a rich cream sauce as well as a satisfying quinoa and spinach stuffed portobello. Generally, count on seafood taking center stage among both appetizers and entrées, with freshness being the focus. Steaks are of similar quality, available as a six-ounce flat-iron or a ten-ounce rib-eye, and prepared to your desired doneness. An extensive wine list --- heavy on offerings from Spain, France and Italy but not without some domestic players as well --- provides any number of ways to complement your meal. Desserts made by the in-house pastry chef are some of the best in the city and always include sorbet of the day paired with juicy berries.
