Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar Restaurant Review: This is the “total package”---hibachi grill, sushi bar, white tablecloth dining---and it draws a large following that’s got nothing to do with the elaborate décor, big windows and aquariums. People come for what's made this place famous: fresh, affordable Asian-inspired cooking, artful sushi and entertaining hibachi tables. Sawa has an energetic, youthful appeal and a menu that also offers some engaging “fusion” dishes such as the South-West roll made with Cajun spice-crusted white tuna topped with grilled scallions, avocado, tomato coulis, and spicy mayo and wasabi aïoli; and wasabi lobster dumpling soup that features asparagus, mushrooms and a light ginger-soy broth with fragrance that is a joy to inhale, never mind the taste. The service is adequate, the bar scene is lively, and everybody seems to be having a heck of a good time.
