THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Shepard Restaurant Review:

Rene Becker (Hi-Rise Bread Company) and Susan Regis (UpStairs on the Square) are behind Shepard in Porter Square. The French-inspired spot, with its stark white walls, looks a bit clinical when one first steps inside, but we warmed up to it when the friendly staff quickly welcomed us and suggested a fun drink like the Gold Rush and Bamboo Cocktail. Raw oysters are made better when offered with pickled melon and chili; conch fritters come with a chili mayo; and shishito peppers are complemented by a cured egg yolk. Dry-aged lamb leg is the kitchen’s specialty, served with sunflower barigoule, puff ball and flax. We like the simplicity of the lemony half chicken paired with spring onions. Warm grilled donuts with house-made coffee ice cream are a worthy indulgence.
