Shorty's Coney Island Restaurant Review: The 21-and-over age limit doesn’t prevent Shorty’s Coney Island from bringing out the kid in everyone. A circus-minded menu offers a variety of hot dogs and nachos, all served from an old-fashioned soda counter. Choose among bratwurst, Italian sausage, spicy pepper cheese, and even a vegetarian Phoney Coney. The all-time favorite dog comes piled with sauerkraut, relish, onions and deli mustard. Enjoy your food with a bottle of Little Kings Cream Ale (a fountain-style Coke), or something stronger from Shorty’s full bar. After dark, the nighttime scene makes for good people-watching while a room of vintage arcade games adds to the fun.
