| While standard Thai dishes are well done at this Decatur bistro, check out the specials, such as “Angel Legs,” which turn out to be crispy fried frogs’ legs. Preparations with duck and seafood dominate the specials, along with a few chicken dishes. We like the kitchen’s way with vegetables, such as vegetable stuffed “curry puffs,” for which lightly curried vegetables are enclosed in a pastry shell. Green papaya salad with tomatoes and a scattering of peanuts is a refreshing hot-weather option with its zingy lemon-based dressing. For dessert, there’s ice cream, but we suggest the Thai donuts and accompanying dipping sauce. Prepare to share, as the portion holds ten of these lovely little beignet-like treats. Dinner prices for main plates stay well under $20. Value? You bet. While the wine list isn't extensive, the selections are decent, and a few go well with Thai fare, such as a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or either of the two Rieslings. |
