THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Smokey Bones Barbecue & Grill Restaurant Review:

Barbecue fanatics typically avoid corporate 'cue joints because the meat in question usually is cooked in an oven, over gas or has zilch character. Smokey Bones is an exception. These tender, but still al dente, ribs have that pink cast that attests to their having been cooked over wood. Some customers, in fact, think their meat's not done, but it is. Good sides include a respectable Brunswick stew, collard greens and slaw. Very good slaw, in fact. The St. Louis-style ribs are what you want to target, and dip into the hot sauce (the regular lacks guts). The extensive menu includes other choices, such as chicken, for those not into the real thing. The place is fun, with lots of sports-focused TVs that you can control from your booth by tinkering with a metal contraption on the table. The apple cobbler is awesome, if a bit fancy for a 'cue joint. But very tasty indeed.
