Speakeasy Saloon Restaurant Review: It's easy to have a good time at Speakeasy Saloon in the heart of Canton. The crowd is lively, the roaring ’20s environs fun, and the food usually decent. The menu combines upscale bar food with classier fare. Appetizers emphasize the Mediterranean side of the menu, and include such mezze as saganaki, spanakopita and Greek meatballs. From there you can move on to something simple, like a New York strip or ten-ounce burger, or one of the restaurant's full-scale production numbers like veal Raphael with shrimp, mushrooms and capers or the Cajun-inspired shrimp Tchoupitoulas, served over linguine. Maryland-style crab cakes are especially good. Portions are big and service is generally attentive.
