St. Charles Deli is the source for classic sandwiches, from hamburgers to shrimp po'boys to New York-style deli two-handers. Even the hot dog is for grown-ups, all beef with its laying on of sauerkraut, relish and stone-ground mustard. Good coffee, even the decaf, or a good espresso can make music with the desserts, which come from some of the city's best small suppliers. Egg dishes are served all day, including the whopper omelets. Check out the soups, as well. It's a good spot for a midday pick-me-up snack. Brunch on Sunday gets slammed.
