Sublime Doughnuts Restaurant Review: After learning baking fundamentals in the U.S. Navy and traveling all over the world tasting exotic sweets and baked goods, Marietta native Kamal Grant studied at the Culinary Institute of America and the American Institute of Baking. He has carved out for himself a totally unexpected niche: the donut. These takes on donuts are so impressive, a gentleman visiting Atlanta convinced Grant to let him open a franchise in Bangkok. From the dulce de leche to the s’mores with its marshmallow filling in the donut hole, the donuts leave the ordinary behind and embrace flavors and styles from a variety of sources. Fritters, twists and even a frosted croissant add depth to the concept.
