Sudachi Restaurant Review: Youthful owner Ming Hwang has crafted a stylish space for Polk Street revelers in an otherwise gritty area in the Gulch. The house is split into two distinct rooms: a high, industrial front lounge is kept spare and modern with artisanal textiles, local art, reclaimed Douglas fir seating; in back is a Japanese enclave with tatami seating and a long sushi bar. The quality of the sushi has taken a plunge since its opening, and the restaurant is now focused on pushing cheap drinks and specialty rolls for happy hour or late-night party crowds. |
