THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Summit Station Restaurant & Brewery Restaurant Review:
If yall like your Cajun flavors hot and snappy and your Creole gumbo loaded with peppery flavors, youll count this place as a real find. Of course, Southern cooking (specifically, Crescent City-style) is not the only theme that runs through the menu: You can start with a three-cheese focaccia, fresh vegetable rolls with pickled ginger, or a hearty crab and poblano cheese dip. But maybe the best way to set up for the coming courses is with a bowl of the black bean chile. You want only half a portion, the waitress asked of our skimpy order of the bourbon-barbecued crispy shrimp salad. Sure, we smiled, but never again, because this puts other salads to shame with its jumbo crispy prawns tossed with loads of flavor extras. But since the call of the South is strong, you might want to tackle the real Louisiana boudin with Cajun pork air-freighted in from New Orleans. And, yes, many beers are brewed on the premises, which have retained their historic character and charm.
