Tabrizi's Restaurant Review:

Circa 1990, Michael Tabrizi’s Federal Hill bistro was a real innovation, offering both authentic Middle Eastern fare and Mediterranean classics in romantic European surroundings. This fusion pioneer was a sensation, making it all the more surprising when Tabrizi abruptly left the business a few years later --- and all the more cheering that he, and his nouvelle-Mediterranean oeuvre, returned to Baltimore. Located in a marina community with a striking harbor view, this Tabrizi’s is a low-key beauty, finished with honey-colored stone and blond wood, and boasting an open kitchen. In contrast to the room’s elegant neutrals, the food is colorful and eclectic, with organic vegetables garnishing dishes as varied as grilled chicken breast over fresh spring salad in Dijon sage vinaigrette and alpine merino lamb kebabs over basmati rice, pine nuts, mint and garden salad. For diners who’d like a lighter bite, Tabrizi’s offers an assortment of small plates, pastas, and even a Persian-accented burger. Customers take note: Tabrizi’s has taken off as a wedding venue, so many dates, especially Saturdays, are booked. Definitely call ahead to make sure you can be seated.
