THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Taipei Asian Cuisine Restaurant Review:
Despite its name, a holdover from a prior operator, the restaurant does not serve Taiwanese food. Chef Xin Zhao and his family took over this establishment in 2011, and haven't changed the moniker. A few well-spaced tables and little décor sum up the interior. Never mind: You're here for the authentic Szechuan Chinese food the kitchen turns out. Opt for one of the hot pots, some of which contain chicken stomach, frogs and pork stomach. We chose the tasty, spicy stuffed pork intestine. Eggplant comes in a variety of dishes, but we're hooked on the pork-filled eggplant in garlic sauce. Vegetarians will find plenty to enjoy, from simple steamed assorted vegetables to sundry tofu selections, meat-free eggplant options, noodles and "towel gourd with garlic." Sweets aren't on the agenda. There is no alcohol, but we think hot tea works just fine with the fare.
