 In trendy Lawrenceville, Tamari exudes cool, upbeat vibes. The restaurant fuses Asian and Latin flavors and attracts a broad demographic with its smart décor and mix of dining-entertainment options---outdoor seating in the front courtyard, a second floor deck and cozy lounge with a downtown city view, a bustling drinks bar, a sushi bar and a robata grill. Menu choices are equally flexible and varied: small plates, such as the signature phyllo-wrapped tiger shrimp with mango sauce and cilantro vinaigrette; larger entrées ranging from spice-rubbed pork tenderloin to fish tacos; skewered and grilled items from the wood-fired robata grill; and a world of ceviche and specialty maki. For dessert, there's a spicy chocolate tart with dulce de leche and hibiscus-glazed strawberries. Service can be chaotic.
