Tamarind Tree Restaurant Review: Whether in front of the indoor mini fire-pits or outdoors by the faux waterfall, there's a sense of romanticism woven into Tamarind Tree's white tablecloths. Enjoy a guava or roasted chili martini at a granite-topped table or, weather permitting, relax on the umbrella-shaded patio edged with lush greenery. While the 25-plus-page menu may be daunting, it's filled with a wide array of flavors. Appetizers range from classic spring rolls to grilled pork meatballs. Salad options feature a selection with fresh fruit. For main dishes, we recommend the turmeric-seasoned catfish served with a shrimp paste sauce. Rice options combine ingredients such as short ribs with an herb fish sauce, or a mix of seafood topped with mint green onions. For the indecisive eater, the "seven courses of beef" may appeal; bargain-priced and easily shared by two, it's a good date choice. Do not overlook the generous scoop of homemade taro root ice cream for dessert. Various beers and wines are available, as is a full bar.
