The Tao of Tea Restaurant Review: The hustle and bustle of the Southeast Belmont neighborhood seems far away inside this oasis of serenity. Portland’s oldest teahouse is magical, with gentle lighting, an interior waterfall, and cushions to lend a calming effect even before you order your tea---there are more than 100 different varieties from several countries including India, China, Japan, Taiwan and the U.S. Although tea is the focus, Asian-influenced food is a welcome complement. Choose from such classic tea snacks as spinach rolls, dal and rice, and aloo paratha, as well as a variety of desserts from around the world. We suggest the specialty of date-stuffed flatbread topped with toasted coconut. |
