The Tasting Room Restaurant Review

: Who says the once-rustic town of Frederick, Maryland, can't go upscale? This trendy destination---which looks more like it would fit into Manhattan's Upper East Side than in a farming community---serves sophisticated food in a hard-edged chrome-and-stainless steel setting. Start with the chef's signature crab meat and artichoke dip, a creamy mixture served with crisped Melba rounds. Midday offers casual fare such as a hamburger with loads of hand-cut, hot fries. In the evening offerings include oven-roasted center-cut filet mignon and a veal tenderloin chop. Desserts are a must, as the pastry chef has a vivid imagination and has produced a volcano cake that oozes molten chocolate. Don’t forget to check out The Tasting Room’s notable wine list.

Horrendous Front of House Service overshadows food
by dustycary on Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:50 am

Made reservations thru Opentable with great anticipation. Showed up to a loud, overcrowded venue. After waiting we were finally offered a table by the bathroom despite seeing tables open on our trip to the "ring side table". When we requested an alternate table we were essentially shown the door and then reported as "no show" for the reservation. No matter how good the food might have been or how fine the expertise of the kitchen, the front of the house experience was shocking and embarrassing to our guests and quickly ruined the experience for us.
