Taverna Pizzeria & Risottoria Restaurant Review: The trattoria décor and a well-placed patio have made Taverna a neighborhood go-to. Start with the antipasti sampler for the table, a classic roundup of prosciutto, sopressata, mortadella and olives. Wood oven-baked pizzas are quite good and proffer crusts sporting a nice balance between chewy and crispy; we particularly like the arugula-topped pie with fresh tomatoes and cheese. Risotto proves a bit more difficult --- though the creamy broth on the simple Parmesan risotto is lovely, the rice itself may be a bit overdone. Seafood fans might opt for the saffron-infused risotto ai frutti di mare with its shrimp, scallops, clams and other fresh seafood. We recommend sticking with the dessert pizza smothered in Nutella and bypassing the disappointing panna cotta.
