Terry's Turf Club Restaurant Review:

Terry's is the only place in the city to get a foie gras-topped burger served on a paper plate. The place is owned by Terry Carter, the same guy who opened the city's Neon's nightclub more than a quarter century ago. Many of the nightclub's neon signs now decorate this burger joint, where people line up along the sidewalk to come in and get a taste of burgers crowned with jamón Ibérico or Thai peanut sauce or other fancy fixings. The burgers are served on Shadeau bakery buns, and there’s a choice of six sauces, like roasted red peppers and goat cheese. The limited menu is mostly for carnivores, with items such as filet mignon chili with pork tenderloin and fresh herbs; a vegetarian-friendly portobello sandwich is available, too. Those seeking fish might choose from cod, mahi, salmon, tuna or halibut. Don’t be disappointed by the plastic utensils --- at least you get a real glass for your beer. Fortunately, you can’t miss this restaurant, with its neon cowboy sign. Décor is kitschy, and --- no surprise here --- the floor is covered in peanut shells.
