Here's a breezy setting with lots of windows, hardwood floors and crisp pale linens. It's a Zen-like way to enjoy mild or spicy Thai food---just choose your heat level carefully, as hot is not intended for the timid. Start with the artistically garnished platter of steamed chicken and vegetable dumplings served with a gingery dipping sauce. Intriguing main dishes incorporate a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs, such as Massaman beef curry accented with tamarind and loaded with carrots, potatoes, onions and peanuts. Smoked duck sits on a bed of bell peppers, asparagus and onions with a flurry of fresh basil on top. We find the pad thai a bit on the sweet side. The carefully chosen wine list stands right up to this wine-challenging cuisine.
