THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Three Fat Pigs Restaurant Review:

Surely you've heard of "The Three Little Pigs" but chef Philip "Ippy" Aiona wants to make sure you're also familiar with The Three Fat Pigs. Aiona was a finalist on season eight of the television show "Food Network Star" and also operates Ippy's Hawaiian BBQ in the Queens' Marketplace at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. The Three Fat Pigs, located next to the lake in the Kings' Shops, inhabits a two-story space with the restaurant on the ground level and The Thirsty Wolf Gastropub upstairs (open Fri.-Sat. evenings). With a name like The Three Fat Pigs, it's no surprise to find pork belly; here's it's served on a sweet bun with roasted tomatoes, arugula and crispy sweet onions. Other proteins find representation, too, as in the lamb burger and fish po' boy sandwich. The menu also features several salads made with local greens, including a tuna tataki salad with creamy wasabi dressing, plus larger plates such as a daily seafood special and a grilled 10 oz. rib-eye steak. Desserts may include strawberry basil shortcake. The specialty cocktails present classics with a twist: the Manhattan gets a kick from ginger while the Lemon Drop features lychee-infused vodka.
