Drive up to this spot with its appearance of an authentic roadside diner in Anywhere, USA, but be prepared to leave your assumptions at the door. Once you open the menu you'll know why looks can be deceptive. Hearty breakfasts are the big draw, plus true local-style grinds. Order a hearty helping of eggs served with rice and Portuguese sausage, the french toast made from sweet bread, or be adventuresome (and smart) and go for miso soup and eggs. Lunch is heavy on meat and gravy; however, Asian-style entrées such as donburi and teriyaki beef are also served. Although the food is rather pedestrian, it remains popular. Beverages are limited to the basics, but no one leaves thirsty.
